Dr. Bawumia said corruption impedes growth.

At the 59th Annual Session of the church in Ejura, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice-President, and Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, the Executive President of the Ghana Baptist Convention

According to Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, one of the main obstacles to achieving God's purpose for the globe is corruption.

He claimed that corruption hampered economic expansion and had an impact on commercial activities, employment, and investments.

"Additionally, it lessens tax receipts and financial aid programs' efficiency. High levels of corruption have an impact on society as a whole, which lowers trust in the legal system, government, and ultimately living quality "Added he.

Speaking at the 59th annual meeting of the Ghana Baptist Convention in Ejura, Ashanti Region, was the vice president.

"Fulfilling God's purpose, increasing God's church" was the focus of the session.

According to Dr. Bawumia, governments have generally not concentrated on creating the institutions and mechanisms that support economic activity in a modern economy since the country's independence.

"systems that will lessen bribery and corruption, improve the efficiency of governmental service delivery, increase domestic revenue mobilization, and generally make life easier for the populace.

"Therefore, sin is a factor that surrounds the entire corruption issue. We need to address this phenomena because it exists in our culture.

"Because of the very nature of our culture, corruption grows. It thrives in any civilization where there is a lot of darkness, to the point where there is so much concealment that it is impossible to determine who is who "he added.

The Vice-President continued, "One can even go and borrow money from a bank and then change his or her name and go to another bank to borrow" in a society plagued by the canker.

He said that the government's decision to implement the digitalization policy in order to address these issues was partially motivated by this.

"Digitalization is shedding light on the murky world of corruption and bribery. This administration is creating a framework that will increase accountability, discipline, and trustworthiness while also facilitating inclusivity, he continued.

Commendation

The Vice-President acknowledged the foundation of the Kumasi Academy, formerly known as the Saddler Baptist Secondary School, and thanked the Ghana Baptist Convention for its contributions to national development, notably in the fields of health and education.

"I would like to recognize the recent opening of a contemporary science lab at Kumasi Academy by the school's former students association.

It is reportedly the biggest and greatest science lab in any secondary school in the nation right now. I'm hoping that the education minister would follow through on his pledge to include Kumasi Academy among the STEM schools.

Dr. Bawumia continued by saying that many "Trokosi" and underprivileged females have found hope at the Baptist Vocational Training Center.

He claimed that the Baptist University, which recently celebrated its 13th commencement, was a tremendous testament to the church's resolve to offer postsecondary education in a cutthroat and difficult financial climate.

"I also had the honor of being the guest of honor at the Baptist Medical Center's 60th anniversary celebration and the unveiling of its new facilities in Nalerigu, in the North East Region.

"Since it was my late father, Mumuni Bawumia, who convinced the Baptist missionaries to establish the center, I was especially thrilled, the Vice-President stated.

He claimed that the center had served as a significant medical facility for the local populace as well as those from Burkina Faso and Togo, two neighboring countries.

Collaboration

Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, the Chairman of the National Peace Council and Executive President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, called for increased cooperation between the church and the state to hasten the pace of national development.
