Ghanaian artist Nathaniel Owusu adopted the stage name Lasmid after being nominated for a Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA).

He said on Showbiz on Property, "If I win the new artiste of the year award, that's wonderful. We will keep working hard even if I don't win since being nominated is a success in and of itself for me.
