(Oheneba Kissi) I wasn't serious about my music career [Watch video] || SNP

Veteran Highlife artist Oheneba Kissi has acknowledged that he did not take his music profession seriously at the beginning, despite the fact that many Ghanaians adore his songs.

He claimed in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that one likely factor in his inability to succeed in the Ghanaian music industry was his lack of dedication to his musical attempts.

Oheneba Kissi clarified that if he had been releasing more albums like Daddy Lumba and similar artists did, he would have become more well-known and most likely made more money because he had the resources to do it.

The musician, 65, claimed that it was Mark Okraku Mante, who was then his producer, who persuaded him to film the ABC of Love music video, which launched him into the spotlight.

The Highlife musician, whose first album, Suzy, was published in 1990 and who has since released a total of 13 albums, claimed that his songs were more well-known than his name and that his name was more well-known than his appearance.

Ohenena Kissi has a number of songs that are really famous, but he has yet to receive any recognition from the major awarding bodies. Despite this, he claims he is not disturbed in the least because Ghanaians adore his music and he continues to land gigs that pay well.

"I have not yet received any recognition from well-known award programs like the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), 3Music Awards, etc.

I was honored for my contribution to Highlife music some time ago by the University of Education-Winneba, he remarked.
