The new deadline for the results' release falls on a Saturday. The WAEC frequently withholds results on Saturdays. The reason for the delay in the result release date is unclear.

The 2023 WASSCE result date was made public by WAEC ahead of time, but the release date was postponed by nearly 48 hours.
