The Bawku Central NDC primary is won by Mahama Ayariga. || SNP

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), the opposition party, has been re-elected under the leadership of Mahama Ayariga, the incumbent member of parliament for Bawku Central.

The former Minister of Information garnered 863 votes in the recently held NDC primaries.


In the general elections of 2024, Mr. Ayariga will serve as the party's leader for a fourth time.


Theo Braimah Awanzam received 96 votes, compared to Ustarz Jibreal Sahad's 283 votes.

In the presidential primary elections, former president John Dramani Mahama received 1201 votes, while Kojo Bonsu received 24 votes and Kwabena Duffuor—who withdrew from the race on Friday night—received 9 votes.


Out of the total cast valid votes, three were rejected.
